'Normal, Defect, Fire!' was made in 2007/08 as part of a project run by the experimental Welsh label Fourier Transform.

Fourier Transform has released a number of beautiful and intriguing recordings over the years, including the seminal 'Brave New Wales'.

The sonic material found on 'Normal, Defect, Fire!' is sourced entirely from a single field recording provided by Fourier Transform. As a result, the album has a markedly different sound to other Stereo Minus One recordings.

This album travels through skips and fractures, overwhelming loudness and near silence, offering the listener a unique world of a-rhythmic repetition, chance modulation, and inhuman life.
